Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is bodywork session, and how is my therapist assigned?

The bodywork session is a focused, 20-minute Community Grounding therapeutic bodywork experience. While your session is personalized, the event takes place in a shared studio space with four therapists (Jesse, Siobhan, Carla, Bri) working simultaneously. You will be matched with the next available therapist upon check-in.

What is bodywork?

Bodywork is any therapeutic technique that works with the human body by means of manual and/or energetic therapy. The terms bodywork and massage therapy are often used interchangeably to describe focused, intentional healing touch and manipulation of soft tissues.

How should I prepare, and what should I wear?

Please arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled time to check in. Wear comfortable yoga or workout clothes that allow you to move freely, as your body will not be uncovered. Bring a bottle of water and be mindful of your personal boundaries for active communication during the session.

What about the privacy of my health information?

We value your privacy and work in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Our work together is strictly confidential and does not leave the treatment area. I do not share any of your personal or health information without your written consent.

How much is the session, and how do I pay?

We request a suggested donation of $30 for your 20-minute session. This contribution supports both our gifted therapists and a local Marfa/West Texas charity. Payment is collected on the day of the event via cash, Venmo, or check.

What is the cancellation policy?

We ask that you please cancel or reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance so we can offer the time slot to another community member. If you need to reschedule with more than 24 hours' notice, please contact Jesse directly through his website. If you are late, your session cannot be extended.
